The Halaqah

School and home, learning as one.

A halaqah is a circle that gathers to learn, to question, and to be formed in character. Across 2026 and 2027 we are keeping three of them: one for parents, one for teachers and staff, and one for students, so that what is nurtured at school is continued at home.

Why a Halaqah

When school and home pull in the same direction, children flourish.

Decades of research in education converge on one quiet point: when a school and a child's home move in the same direction, learning deepens and endures. Parental engagement, a shared language between teachers and families, and a coherent moral and intellectual culture are among the strongest predictors of how well a child learns, and of who that child becomes.

Halaqah is our way of making that alignment real. It is a classical Islamic form, the gathering in a circle to learn and to be formed, and it carries a method our own age would recognise as sound: small, regular, relational, and reflective. Through it we bring parents, teachers and students into one conversation, so that what begins at home is honoured at school, and what is built at school is carried home.

Alignment between school and home is not an add-on to learning. It is the ground the learning grows in.
